Independent Media Productions Picks up a Telly Award for Gary Job Corps Recruitment Video

Austin, TX -- Independent Media Productions, an Austin, Texas based video production company, has been awarded a Telly Award. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs and the finest video and film production. The winning project was a recruitment video, produced for client Gary Job Corps Center. Located in San Marcos, TX, Gary Job Corps is the largest, most extensive Job Corps Center in the U.S., training disadvantaged youth in over two dozen vocational specialties, including business computers, auto diagnostics, health care, culinary arts, heating and air conditioning, welding, machinist, and construction trades.

The video program featured interviews with present and past students of the Gary Job Corps Center. The multi-day shoot captured all aspects of campus life and footage from many of the vocational programs, showing students learning skills in a hands-on environment. The final DVD is used by recruiters to show potential students the opportunities and realities of participating in the Gary Job Corps program.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. Winners and Finalists represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. With a 26 year history of recognizing creative excellence, the Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected international competition.

“The staff and students of Gary Job Corps were an inspiration and we were proud to collaborate with them,” said Steve Corder, principal of Independent Media Productions. “We enjoyed helping them bring their vision to life, and giving them a tool to recruit new students to their outstanding program.”
