Aegis Award for Independent Media's ‘Justice 101’ Video Production
Austin, TX --Independent Media Productions, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based video production company, has won an Aegis Award. The winning project isa public service educational video, produced for the Texas Young Lawyers Association, titled “Justice 101: The Client’s Guide to Litigation.”
Independent Media Productions and TYLA collaborated on all aspects of the production, which shot in Austin over several days, and features scenes of actual lawyers, clients, judges and cases playing out in courtrooms. Paul Carmona, an Austin attorney, is the on-camera spokesman. Attorney David Kroll and actress Debra Cole fill the roles of attorney and client, and TYLA members appear in “legal sidebar” scenes.
TYLA recognized that the world of litigation is foreign to most people, and that those entering into a lawsuit for the first time are often overwhelmed. “Justice 101” provides a resource for attorneys to give their clients a roadmap to the process. The program gives an overview of topics such as attorney fees, pleadings, the attorney-client relationship, discovery, trial, and appeal. The 20 minute program is broad enough to be helpful in virtually any kind of litigation and provides a starting point for both attorney and client towards a mutual understanding of what their particular case might involve.
“The TYLA Member Services Committee were great to work with, and we enjoyed helping them bring their vision to life and creating a great tool to help educate clients on the litigation process,” said Steve Corder, principal of Independent Media Productions.”
